Science Applications International Corp. (SAIC) announced on Monday that it has acquired Information Security Corp. (ISC), a small business based in Illinois that provides public key infrastructure, encryption, and credential management software. All of ISC's employees and leaders have joined SAIC. The terms of the deal were not disclosed.
ISC's products are used by the intelligence community and the Department of Defense, supporting identity, authentication, and data protection in sensitive government environments.
SAIC's existing customers and partners in the government and defense sectors will be affected as the company integrates ISC's capabilities. ISC's current customers will now be served by SAIC. Competitors in the identity management and encryption space may face a stronger combined entity.
Monitor how SAIC integrates ISC's software into its existing service lines and whether it retains ISC's key government customers. Also watch for any new contract announcements that leverage the combined capabilities, as well as competitor responses in the government cybersecurity market.
