Google announced a unified agentic AI for Gemini Enterprise at a Google Cloud event on Thursday. The agent takes objectives rather than simple instructions, plans work, uses custom skills and tools, and connects to internal business systems including Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, Slack, Jira, Confluence, Git, BigQuery, Databricks, Postgres, and Snowflake.
The agent can also work with any Model Context Protocol (MCP) server inside or outside the company network. It gets its own Workspace account with an email address and context, and users can track its actions and audit trail via a tasks inbox.
The agent is launching for businesses first, with a consumer rollout later. Gemini has over 1 billion monthly active users, and nearly 90% of Fortune 100 businesses use Gemini Enterprise at work.
Early testers of the agent include sportswear brand On, Shopify, and PayPal. Gemini Enterprise customers mentioned include BNP Paribas, Bradesco, Merck, Orange Spain, Santee Cooper, SOMPO, Ulta Beauty, and Wesfarmers.
The launch signals demand for AI integration services, MCP server tooling, and multi-model orchestration. Google also introduced flexible spending options including smart routing and real-time spend caps, confirming enterprise AI cost management is a growing pain point.
Google will expand its model picker to open source and other private models in the future, broadening integration opportunities. The agent will also reach consumers later, expanding the addressable market. Track which enterprises publicly adopt the agent and which partners emerge for deployment and cost optimization.
