Epiq acquired Canopy, a data breach response technology company, in a deal with undisclosed financial terms. Canopy's platform, including its agentic AI capability Auto Review, will be integrated into Epiq AI and made accessible through Epiq Service Cloud.
Canopy's engineering team and cyber response specialists are joining Epiq. Adi Elliott, Canopy's former COO, has been appointed Vice President of Product Management, Cyber.
Epiq's clients—corporations, law firms, and courts—will gain access to Canopy's automated data mining and review capabilities within the incident response workflow. Epiq reports working with 87% of breach counsel and over 70% of cyber insurers, supporting more than 1,800 incidents annually.
Canopy's existing customers will see their technology folded into Epiq's broader platform, while Epiq's product organization expands with Canopy's talent.
The acquisition accelerates Epiq's use of AI across incident response, from initial data assessment to notification preparation. Epiq claims its AI can reduce data requiring further review by up to 95% and support up to 2 million notifications per day.
Monitor how quickly Epiq integrates Canopy's technology into Epiq AI and whether it expands beyond breach response into proactive preparedness. Watch for new product roles and engineering hires as Epiq scales its cyber portfolio.
SDRs should track Epiq's product roadmap and look for opportunities to sell complementary AI, data analytics, or notification infrastructure into its ecosystem.
