Woori Bank signed an agreement to provide 400B won (~$300M) in combined loans and fund investments for the Gochang offshore wind project in Jeonbuk State. The 76.2MW project will be built in public waters and supply power to strategic industries including Physical AI Valley and mobility clusters.
Dongchon Wind Power leads the project development. Woori Bank's infrastructure finance team will manage the financing through their Regional Development Infrastructure Fund. Jeonbuk State and Gochang County are direct beneficiaries of both the energy infrastructure and economic revitalization.
The project's planned expansion to 1GW capacity signals long-term investment in Jeonbuk's offshore wind sector. Woori Bank's stated intent to continue cooperation with Jeonbuk State suggests follow-on financing opportunities for renewable energy projects.
