Cohere announced a proposed agreement to acquire AISLE, a cybersecurity startup founded in 2024 that builds autonomous systems to discover and remediate unknown software vulnerabilities. Cohere will launch Cohere Cyber, a new global cybersecurity business unit, as part of its expansion into Europe after previous acquisitions of Reliant AI and Aleph Alpha.
AISLE has discovered more than 500 previously unknown vulnerabilities with CVEs across 100+ codebases, including all 12 vulnerabilities in OpenSSL's January security release. Its three founders are joining Cohere in leadership roles spanning cyber, corporate security, and AI security research.
Organizations selling security, compliance, governance, or infrastructure tooling should track Cohere's new Cyber unit. AISLE's founders now hold key buying decisions: Ondrej Vlcek becomes SVP of Cohere Cyber, leading the global cybersecurity business, and Jaya Baloo becomes CISO.
Enterprises and governments that deploy Cohere's sovereign AI platform — particularly in highly regulated industries in Europe — will feel the impact as Cohere folds AISLE's autonomous security capabilities into its full-stack AI offering.
Cohere is moving AI from experimentation to production with security as a core adoption factor. The acquisition strengthens its sovereign AI positioning with capabilities for private cloud, on-prem, and air-gapped environments.
Watch for formal close of the transaction and announcements of Cohere Cyber's go-to-market structure. The newly-appointed SVP and CISO will define the security product roadmap and vendor stack, making them priority contacts for SDRs.
Also track whether AISLE's autonomous vulnerability capabilities get productized into standalone offerings or embedded into Cohere's platform — that will determine which sales motions and buying centers emerge.
