CloudNC, a UK-based manufacturing software startup, announced a $20 million Series B extension, bringing its lifetime total to $128 million. The round was led by Nimble Ventures, with participation from Calculus Venture Capital, Entrepreneur First, and LM Capital (Lockheed Martin’s venture arm). The company’s last major raise was four years ago.
CloudNC offers CAM Assist, an AI-powered software that plugs into traditional CAM systems like Autodesk Fusion and Mastercam to automate parts of CNC machining. It helps machinists and programmers select tools, approach directions, and cutting parameters, then drafts the machine code—allowing users to review and approve the output.
More than 1,000 machine shops worldwide currently use CAM Assist, with 80% of customers in the United States. The company has a team of 80 employees and serves both manufacturers and companies in automotive, defense, and consumer hardware industries.
The funding will enable CloudNC to strengthen go-to-market operations, expand in existing and new markets, and develop new products—including Quote Agent, launching next month. Quote Agent helps machine shops estimate cost and risk of new projects, aiding faster quoting decisions.
Watch for Quote Agent’s launch next month and how it is received by existing CAM Assist users. Also monitor CloudNC’s go-to-market expansion into new geographies and verticals, especially defense, given the Lockheed Martin connection. The company’s ability to scale adoption from 1,000 to thousands more shops will be a key indicator of product-market fit and revenue growth.
