Accenture delivered broad-based growth across all three geographies in Q4, with revenue above the top end of its prior guided range. The quarter reflected continued enterprise reinvention demand, large managed services bookings, and accelerating AI-related work.
Full-year FY2026 bookings included 37 clients with bookings above $100 million in Q4 alone. The breadth of large deals underscores continued demand for multi-year reinvention programs, even as discretionary spending remained largely unchanged.
Management characterized AI as a net growth tailwind, stating that opportunities related to AI exceed the impact of AI-related delivery efficiencies within Accenture's own business. Nearly 100 additional clients began their first advanced AI engagement in Q4, bringing the FY2026 total above 400.
The competitive environment was described as intense. Pricing was stable for FY2026 overall, but Accenture experienced lower pricing across many business areas in Q4. The FY2027 margin outlook incorporates expectations for continued pricing pressure.
The overall demand environment, including discretionary spending, did not meaningfully change during Q4. The upper end of FY2027 guidance assumes stable to slightly improving discretionary spending, while the lower end allows for deterioration.
AI is producing additional delivery efficiencies, but Accenture said it is offsetting those effects through new types of work, expanded scope, and broader client relationships. Hiring will continue in every market during FY2027, but at a slower rate than FY2026, partly because of AI-related productivity.
On AI safety, Accenture plans to invest $1 billion over five years, including a dedicated safety lab and team. The company expects to work with multiple frontier AI laboratories on a nonexclusive basis.
The Middle East direct impact worsened in Q4, affecting approximately $1 billion of annualized business. Indirect effects on discretionary spending in products and resources stabilized. The top of the FY2027 guidance range assumes no growth in that business; the bottom allows for further deterioration.
Days services outstanding increased to 50 days from 47 days a year earlier. Management attributed Q4 revenue above the top of its prior range to several factors, including more small deals, faster contract mobilization, acquisition contributions, stronger federal performance, and carryover of employee paid time off.
Accenture's FY2026 acquisition strategy deployed $4.9 billion across 17 deals, targeting high-growth areas and non-FTE commercial models. Closed transactions included Ookla in network intelligence, Whalar in creator and social agency work, and Comware in Japan mid-market SAP and CRM.
Announced agreements to acquire McCoy, a Dutch SAP transformation partner, and Industries Excellence Group, focused on engineering and supply chain, extend this approach into mid-market SAP and industrial engineering capabilities.
Approximately $3 billion of cyber operational technology acquisitions, including Dragos, shifted from Q4 2026 to Q1 2027 due to regulatory timing. These have now closed. Accenture plans to deploy approximately $5 billion toward acquisitions in FY2027, subject to opportunity and timing.
The company increased its AI and data workforce to nearly 110,000, exceeding its prior three-year goal of 80,000. Employees completed 46 million hours of training during the year. This capacity build supports both consulting and managed services delivery as clients move from AI pilots to scaled implementations.
Accenture's top 10 ecosystem partners generated more than 60% of FY2026 revenue, with associated revenue growing 6%. For eight emerging AI and data partners, bookings more than tripled and revenue more than doubled from FY2025. This partner concentration and emerging-partner growth highlight where client spending is shifting.
Managed services revenue rose 7% in local currency, driven by high-single-digit growth in technology managed services and operations. Record managed services bookings of $12.8 billion in Q4 reflect client preference for outcome-based contracts that combine reinvention with cost certainty.
Capital return remains a priority. Accenture plans to return at least $9.5 billion to shareholders in FY2027, including $5.5 billion in share repurchases and a 5% dividend increase. The weighted average share count is expected to decline by approximately 3%.
The FY2027 guidance of 3% to 6% local currency revenue growth, combined with 10 to 30 basis points of adjusted operating margin expansion, balances AI-driven revenue growth against pricing pressure and continued investment. The range is wider than typical guidance bands, reflecting macro uncertainty and Middle East exposure.
I would watch four things over the next two quarters:
